More Destination: Southern Wisconsin

Hello Readers!

Our spring issue is hot off the press. In addition to uncovering our 8th Annual Best Of Reader’s Choice Award winners and welcoming the newest inductees to our esteemed Hall of Fame, our latest edition also sheds light on the great resorts and experiences just north of the border in Southern Wisconsin.

Recently we discovered even more news from this region we wanted to share with you. First, Grand Geneva Resort and Spa (highlighted in the article) is offering special group rates and bonuses. The AAA Four-Diamond resort in Lake Geneva has room blocks for as low as $99/night now through April 30, with continental breakfast included.

Additional meeting planner incentives include an Apple TV for booking 10-49 rooms; an iPad mini and Apple TV for room blocks of 50-99 rooms; and an iPhone 5 and Apple TV for booking 100 or more rooms. Note, this offer is valid on new bookings for stays between Sunday and Thursday. With 62,000 square feet of meeting space and high-tech A/V features, as well as elegant dining and group activities, the Grand Geneva can customize your function for your group’s needs.

Lake Geneva’s Abbey Resort also has big news: a vast $50 million renovation in honor of its 50th birthday. The final phase of the renovation will be completed this May with refreshes to the ballroom, meeting spaces and AVANI Spa, as well as a complete update to the exterior of the resort. Previous tiers of the renovation included all new electronics and soft goods for guest rooms as well as new furnishings for the guest rooms and lobby. When completed, the resort and spa will offer a contemporary look that aims to attract group business into the next 50 years.

The meeting rooms offer 40,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor space with overnight accommodations including 334 luxury rooms inside the resort. It’s set on 90 acres of beautifully manicured grounds with award-winning dining and banquet facilities, nearby championship golf courses and a wide range of outdoor activities.

One final note: thanks to everyone who attended our Best Of party and congratulations to all the winners!

Happy planning!
