Gettysburg’s historic town and majestic countryside boasts beautiful fall foliage, an array of autumn events and is one of America’s top haunted destinations, making the fall season a great time to visit the region.

“While many visitors think of Gettysburg as a summer destination, some of our most popular months are in autumn when the weather is cooler and couples and families are looking for short getaways before the holidays,” says Norris Flowers, President of Destination Gettysburg.

Gettysburg Reporting High Tourism Numbers

The number of overnight stays in Adams County, Pa., through October, is more than 4.1 percent higher than the same timeframe in 2014, according to the Smith Travel Research report which measures hotel occupancy, average daily rates and revenue generated through participating lodging properties.

The CVB recently elected Andrea Proulx, director, sales and marketing, Gettysburg Hotel and Bryan Johnson, CTA, general manager, Country Inn & Suites By Carlson hotel to serve three-year terms on the board, starting July 1.
