Between October 6 and November 10, 2019, marathoners in Milwaukee, Chicago, Kansas City, Detroit, Columbus and Louisville will lace up for their 26.2-mile journeys. Marriott hotels across the Midwest are here to conquer the pre-race jitters with unique amenities and preparation programs. For runners planning Spring 2020 races in St. Louis, Cincinnati, Green Bay, Cleveland and Lexington, Marriott hotels are offering access to scenic running paths, carb-load dinners and grab ‘n go breakfast options.

Here are some of the properties offering marathon season accommodations.

The Westin Chicago River North

In preparation for Chicago’s Bank of America Marathon on Sunday, October 13, The Westin Chicago River North will be offering a “runner’s menu” on the Friday and Saturday leading up to the big race. Marathoners can fuel-up with healthy options like the grain bowl with quinoa, bulgur wheat, farro, kale, roasted corn, sweet potato, apple, dried cranberries, feta cheese and champagne vinaigrette or hearty potato gnocchi with chicken sausage, roasted garlic, blistered tomatoes, spinach and chardonnay beurre. The Grab & Go station located in the lobby will have runners ready to hit the starting line with whole fruit, bottled water and granola bars.

Renaissance Chicago North Shore

Located in ideal proximity to the Botanic Garden, Skokie Lagoon Trails and state-of-the-art Lifetime Athletic Fitness Center, Renaissance Chicago North Shore is perfect for visitors and natives of Chicagoland’s northern suburbs. With a 24-hour fitness center including complimentary headphones, towels and post-workout fuel, runners and their fan base will be ready to go.

Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon on Sunday, October 20, Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph will provide guests with gift bags stuffed with race-day necessities like Cliff bars, Gatorade, Band-Aids, pins, Advil and Biofreeze. Guests will also receive a coupon for a complimentary drink when they show their race medal. Breakfast for all runners will be provided on the morning of featuring energizing options like coffee, Gatorade, peanut butter, bagels and more.

The Westin Great Southern Columbus

The Columbus Marathon’s starting line at North Bank Park is just a quick six-minute drive from The Westin Great Southern Columbus. Ideal for locals and visitors, this relaxing and comfortable property is near the scenic Scioto Mile trail. A short five-minute walk will take guests to Columbus Commons which offers free cardio classes like Zumba and Kickboxing.

Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown

For those looking to test out the Flying Pig Marathon terrain before May 3, 2020, the Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown is the place to be. Serene outdoor paths encourage guests to

explore or maybe even join the Run with Fleet Feet running group for a tour through Smale Park, Eden Park, Friendship Park, the Newport and Covington Water Front, Purple People Bridge and more.
