Christie Post was recently hired as the director of sales northwest for Teneo Hospitality Group in Portland, Ore.

1. What are you looking forward to in your new role as director of sales northwest for Teneo Hospitality Group?

I am really looking forward to fostering long-term relationships with our clients, which is two-fold.  From a planner perspective, it is really rewarding to offer such diversity in global experiences, collaborate to find the right solution and be a trusted advocate from start to finish. From a member hotel and DMC perspective, I love having the opportunity to collaborate and strategize with our partners to help them achieve their goals, be successful and be considered a valuable extension of their sales teams.

2. How do you think your past industry experience has prepared you for this role?

My nine years at Krisam Group representing many of Teneo’s current member partners is extremely helpful from the standpoint of property and destination knowledge. As well, having worked for several hotel brands spanning large convention properties to smaller high end resorts, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of organizations’ meetings and incentives, ranging in size and scope. I look forward to drawing upon all of this experience and knowledge in my role at Teneo.

3. What goals do you have in mind for the hospitality group this year and further down the line?

I’m excited to be part of a growing company and team that can bring so much value and strategic partnership to both our planner clients and member partners. Personally, I am thrilled to be working with some of my previous clients who may not know Teneo or our partners, and acting as a conduit to create new connections and experiences.

4. How did you get into the industry?

As a child, my family lived abroad and we took full advantage of traveling as much as possible while there. These experiences definitely piqued my interest in travel and hospitality at a young age. I was also fortunate to have attended Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration which opened my eyes to so many facets of this fun, fast-paced and exciting industry… and I’ve remained a part of it ever since.

5. What do you enjoy most about the hospitality industry?

The hospitality industry brings people together through unique experiences and destinations and I really enjoy being a part of that. Every day in this industry presents an opportunity to learn something, tackle a new challenge and make an impact. 

Autograph Collection Hotels announced The Blackstone will join the brand's portfolio of more than 100 independent hotels across the globe on June 7.

 

The soon-to-open Omni Frisco Hotel in Dallas has announced the names of its new director of operations, director of finance, director of sales and marketing, director of engineering, director of human resources and neighborhood services general manager.

The hotel will open in July 2017. All of the announced positions will report to Jeff Smith, hotel general manager.

 

Olympia Hotel Management has been chosen to manage Hyatt Place & Hyatt House Quad Cities in East Moline, Illinois. The showcase hotel project features the 134-room Hyatt Place hotel and 99-room Hyatt House hotel.
