The Olympia Companies is known for its lavish and sophisticated properties. Restaurants like the Sea in Maine and The Alfond Inn at Rollins in Winter Park, Florida, as well as its best-in-brand select service hotels have made The Olympia Companies a leader in the industry. The new year is set up to be another record-breaking year for the company as they expand their portfolio of 22 properties. Among the new exciting highlights are:

SOPHY Hyde Park, Chicago, IL

With help from SMART Hotels, The Olympia Companies will manage the new 98-room luxury boutique hotel SOPHY Hyde Park. The Preferred Lifestyle Hotel will be a welcome addition to Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood once construction is complete. Scheduled to open in summer 2018, the property will sit adjacent to the campus of the University of Chicago and close to the site of the future Barack Obama Presidential Library. SOPHY is designed as a four-diamond property and engineered to achieve LEED Silver certification.

The Glen House, Green’s Grant, NH

Olympia Hotel Management was given the honor to operate The Glen House by the Mt. Washington Summit Road Company. The classic New England hotel will be reinvented as the fourth iteration of Glen Houses that have been built in the picturesque locale since 1852. Located near the base of the Mt. Washington Auto Road, the property will open in the summer of 2018.

Hyatt Place & Hyatt House Quad Cities, Moline, IL

Olympia Development will spearhead the construction of two distinct hotels located in the Quad Cities region of northwest Illinois and southeastern Iowa: a 134-room Hyatt Place hotel and 99-room Hyatt House hotel. Olympia Hotel Management will manage the properties once they open. Both hotels are part of a revitalization effort of industrial sites along the Mississippi that will bring much-needed retail, lodging, restaurants, apartments, offices and other amenities to the 132-acre site. With a mile of unobstructed riverfront and views of the majestic bald eagle breeding ground, these new properties are something not to be missed in 2018.

In development:

Colby College, Waterville, ME

Olympia will be developing and leading a new 42-room hotel and restaurant in downtown Waterville, Maine. With the groundbreaking scheduled to begin in 2018, Colby’s new boutique hotel and restaurant will form the gateway to Waterville’s downtown revival.

The Williams Inn, Williamstown, MA

Olympia Hotel Management will take over operation of Williams College’s classic hotel The Williams Inn in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The property is slated to open in 2019.

Hilton Garden Inn, New Haven, CT

Details of the new property are still in the planning stages, but the inn will be located close to Yale University in downtown New Haven.

VISIT Milwaukee, the convention and visitors bureau for Milwaukee, has redefined the city’s online image for meeting planners and recruiters and captured the spirit of Milwaukee’s people, neighborhoods, events, and attractions through a new website.

“Our research reinforced that people are most interested in visiting cities that spark a passion for discovery and offer the chance to collect unique experiences,” said Megan Suardini, vice president of marketing & communications for VISIT Milwaukee.
