• Omni Hotels & Resorts Launched 4th Annual Be Collaborative Series

    POSTED August 14, 2014

Omni Hotels & Resorts recently announced details for the fourth annual Be Collaborative roadshow, a professional development series offered to meeting planners across the nation.

Be Collaborative is dedicated to providing new insights on how clients and suppliers can collaborate by embracing each other’s points of views and achieving mutual success.  The fourth annual Be Collaborative program will focus on professional and personal development and will be followed by a networking event. Each session will feature a renowned guest speaker and valuable professional development content presented by an industry expert.

Inspired by TED Talks, the Be Collaborative series will focus on speaker and attendee interaction by spreading ideas through inspiring forum discussions with a goal of generating dialogue and providing both personal and professional development for planners and managers to find success in all areas of their lives.

The fourth annual program will be broken up into three interactive sessions. The first session, Straight Talk, is a presentation by STR that will provide both insight on supply vs. demand and how planners can leverage trends to save their organization’s time and money.

The second session, Meeting Technology, presented by Encore Event Technologies, will dive into the latest in technology trends and how to use them so planners can do their jobs and run meetings more effectively. Attendees will also receive an in-depth demo of OmniLink, the luxury brand’s new, proprietary and exclusive, customizable meeting app powered by Encore Event Technologies that will help planners stay connected while keeping attendees in the loop.

The third and final session, Omni Meetings University, is Omni’s first online meeting planner educational portal. Omni Meetings University is a centralized hub of sophisticated meeting tools to provide planners with a thorough understanding of the brand, its collection of hotels and resorts, relevant programs as well as top meetings industry trends. The portal will equip planners with tools to make the best site decisions to meet their business objectives.

“Be Collaborative is one of Omni’s most successful client events, and provides planners and suppliers a platform to interact in a meaningful way that drives business results,” said Tom Faust, vice president of sales for Omni Hotels & Resorts. “In addition to the great information that comes from Be Collaborative, we’re honored that this program has been certified by the Convention Industry Council (CIC), and we can provide ongoing continuing education credits for meeting planners.”

Be Collaborative will feature Simon T. Bailey as a thought leader and author of the new book Shift Your Brilliance – Harness the Power of You, Inc. (published by SoundWisdom). Bailey will bring timely and enlightening information to the table to help meeting professionals understand how to shift their thinking and deliver results personally and professionally. A leadership imagineer, Bailey will provide tips, tools and techniques on how to deliver value in the new normal. With a focus on leadership, employee performance and customer experience, he has been cited as ‘one of the best keynote speakers ever heard.’

The Be Collaborative series kicks off at the Omni Berkshire Place in Midtown Manhattan on August 21. Subsequent locations and dates include The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia, on September 6; Omni Chicago Hotel on September 18; Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas, on October 1; Omni San Francisco Hotel on October 30; Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta on November 13; Omni Parker House in Boston on November 20; and the Omni Dallas Hotel on December 18.

Meeting Professionals International (MPI), published its 2022 Winter Meetings Outlook, a quarterly report that identifies new trends and innovations.

Among its findings:

On September 1, over 1,500 businesses across the country illuminated their buildings with red lights to draw attention to the devastation that the live events and performance art industries have faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a survey commissioned by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), frequent travelers feel safer when hotels adhere to AHLA's Stay Safe guidelines, which detail cleaning protocols for hotels during the COVID-19 pandemic.
