• Palmer House Hilton Celebrated 143 Years With Restoration

Chicago’s Palmer House Hilton welcomes guests again after a $215 million-dollar renovation and restoration. Located in the heart of the city, the Palmer House Hilton has been in Downtown Chicago since 1871. The 1,641-room hotel now has a restored executive level, health club, hospitality suites, meetings facilities, business center and restaurants.

Continuing its legacy and maintaining unmatched hospitality for our guests, we will move forward in celebrating 143 years in the making." 

Meetings & Events

The Palmer House Hilton offers space for any meeting or occasion, with 77 function rooms and 130,000 square feet of event space. Historically, the Empire Room has been home to entertainers Frank Sinatra, July Garland, and Ella Fitzgerald. Spaces range from intimate, smaller rooms to the Grand Ballroom. In order to accommodate any group or function, Palmer House Hilton equipped each room with updated technology features.


In the Executive and Hospitality level accommodations, guests will find a unique hotel boutique atmosphere. The 50 deluxe and hospitality suites and, as well as the penthouse, were the focus of the $6 million dollar room renovations. These updates included Serenity Dream mattresses, Peter Roth Artisan toiletries and more. Guests are also able to enjoy private check-in, key-only access, complimentary breakfast, and concierge service. 

Dining & Nightlife

Marrying the modern city with a vintage atmosphere, the hotel’s renovations were influenced by Architect Frank Lloyd Wright and contemporary styles. This included updating the iconic lobby, and the addition of a rooftop garden and an apiary. Lockwood Restaurant and Bar take a fresh approach to classic dishes, focusing on farm-to-table ingredients.

Health & Wellness

The three-level Health Club and Balance Spa awaits guests, offering modern equipment, a Jacuzzi and group fitness classes. Participants can choose from yoga, boxing, pilates, aquafit, and strength training. The Balance Spa includes signature facials, body treatments and massages. 

On September 1, over 1,500 businesses across the country illuminated their buildings with red lights to draw attention to the devastation that the live events and performance art industries have faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.


According to a survey commissioned by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), frequent travelers feel safer when hotels adhere to AHLA's Stay Safe guidelines, which detail cleaning protocols for hotels during the COVID-19 pandemic. 


Through responses to bi-weekly surveys, Global Business Travel Association members have indicated that domestic busines travel is ramping up after months of struggle.
