Commonwealth Hotels, Inc. recently appointed Shannon Schurr as director of sales for the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House Chicago Naperville Warrenville. In her new position, Schurr will direct all areas of both hotels’ sales and marketing efforts.

"Based on her outstanding record in hotel sales and marketing, we are confident that Shannon will be instrumental in ensuring the success of our multiple property complex," said Gordy Snyder, vice president.

Schurr began her career with Marriott Hotels and Resorts. She has more than 17 years in the hospitality industry, where she has held supervisory and management positions in sales, front office operations, convention services and reservations. Schurr is originally from the east coast but has resided in Illinois for the past 18 years.

Replay Lincoln Park is celebrating Halloween all month with an "It" themed pop-up now through Oct. 31.
