Soho House announced the opening of its new Chicago location, placed in the West Loop district, for August 2014. This marks the fifth Soho House location in North America, joining New York, Miami Beach, West Hollywood and Toronto.

Designed by the Soho team, the Soho House Chicago takes on a distinct look inspired by local areas. The building is in a six-story warehouse built in 1907, the original manufacturing center of the Chicago Belting Factory. Several of the building’s original elements will be repurposed in the space, putting new life into historical Chicago mementos, including the fire safety glass and wooden panels from the original water tower structure.

The Soho House Chicago is comprised of 40 guestrooms; two public-facing restaurants, Pizza East and Chicken Shop; Allis Bar; and the Cowshed spa and salon. Other amenities include a fully outfitted fitness center, a 40-seat screening room on the fourth floor, a glass rooftop bar and kitchen, and an 80-foot swimming pool located on the roof's outdoor deck.

On September 1, over 1,500 businesses across the country illuminated their buildings with red lights to draw attention to the devastation that the live events and performance art industries have faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a survey commissioned by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), frequent travelers feel safer when hotels adhere to AHLA's Stay Safe guidelines, which detail cleaning protocols for hotels during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through responses to bi-weekly surveys, Global Business Travel Association members have indicated that domestic busines travel is ramping up after months of struggle.
