Marriott IndyPlace is changing the way meetings are coordinated in Indianapolis. It offers a network of five connected hotels in the heart of the downtown district, including the JW Marriott Indianapolis, Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, Courtyard by Marriott, SpringHill Suites and Fairfield Inn & Suites Indianapolis Downtown. Together, they present a total of 2,276 guest rooms (blocks of 10 or more can be booked with just one point of contact) and a promise to provide seamless execution.

Planners can also make use of the five hotels’ collective 154,000 square feet of meeting space, as well as multiple bars and on-site restaurants that can provide memorable events in one of the Midwest’s top rated cities. As one example, Marriott IndyPlace Director of Sales and Marketing Anne Dunlavy remembers hosting a tech group that had over 3,000 attendees, recalling how the team pulled together an unforgettable experience by working with partners to come up with creative after-hours entertainment. That included using neighboring Victory Field so guests could walk across the street to watch the band The Fray perform live.

Aventri, a leader in events management software (EMS), recently released ‘The Top 100 Meeting and Event Venues in the United States’ for 2019. The company took the ten top-rated meeting and event cities in the United States and picked the top ten venues in each area, compiling a list of 100 highly-regarded spaces.

The guide identifies the two most valuable factors in attendee satisfaction as venue location and activities in the host city, followed by capacity, uniqueness and proximity to local attractions.

Held at the United Center Sept. 21-23, 2018, the Laver Cup—a men’s tennis tournament pitting six top European players against six of their counterparts—marked the first time this major event has been held in the United States. Total event attendance was more than 93,000 people, with fans from around the world traveling to Chicago for an unforgettable experience with the game’s best players. “The Laver Cup was a huge win for Chicago,” says Kara Bachman, executive director of the Chicago Sports Commission.
