One of the phrases that my mother often utters is "kill two birds with one stone." She’s far from violent. Instead, she is highly organized and is the embodiment of a multi-tasker. Like mother, like daughter. I love nothing better than getting two things done at once and just last week I managed to do just that. I interviewed a terrific Philadelphia personality (stay tuned to read that fun interview in our fall issue) and rediscovered a terrific event space. Our interview just so happened to be a lunch meeting at Cuba Libre. There really is no better way to get to know someone than to share a meal.
Situated in the heart of Old City, Cuba Libre instantly transports you to the glamour of old Havana. You might be around the corner from historic landmarks, but step inside this two-level restaurant and Ben Franklin is a distant memory. Arches and windows create a setting that looks and feels like you’re sitting in the middle of a bustling square in Havana. Brightly colored ceramic tile flooring, rattan bistro-style seating, breezy palm trees and pastel colors faded to a perfect patina complete the romantic ambience. The staff is accommodating and friendly, the drinks are always flowing and the Cuban food is satisfyingly delicious.
Events at Cuba Libre can be further enhanced with the addition of everything from salsa lessons and live dance performances to cigar rollers and rum experts. For more information or to book an event, contact Hannah Yoffa at 215.627.0666 or Hyoffa@CubaLibreRestaurant.com
