The Windy City will be the new place to call home for Chicago surf fans starting in summer 2015 thanks to Chicago Surf. This new outdoor surf park will be located at Montrose Beach and will feature a lakefront restaurant for post-surf snacks.
Chicago Surf will feature a SurfStream by American Wave Machines. The SurfStream creates an actual surf experience through the 16-foot wave simulator.
Created by a fellow Chicagoan, K.C Hoos, Chicago Surf is the first and only idea of its kind for the city. Hoos, being a surfer himself, wanted to offer fellow Chicagoans an opportunity for adventure and an outlet to take advantage of the short summer season.
There has been a Kickstarter campaign created by Hoos to help fund the project. Those who contribute will receive rewards including an opportunity to be one of the first to surf and advanced booking for events.
