Autograph Collection Hotels announced The Blackstone will join the brand's portfolio of more than 100 independent hotels across the globe on June 7.

“The Blackstone has found its home as part of Autograph Collection Hotels given its rich history, exceptional design and iconic reputation,” says Julius Robinson, Vice President and Global Brand Lead, Autograph Collection Hotels. “Our one-of-a-kind hotels are known for providing differentiated, standout guest experiences, and we are thrilled to welcome global travelers and Chicago locals alike to this latest addition to our dynamic portfolio.”

The multimillion dollar renovation will be led by The Gettys Group. The refreshed interior design, which will highlight the early 21st century grandeur and craftmanship, will be seen throughout all 335 guest rooms and suites.

“The Blackstone has long been the cornerstone of hospitality in Chicago,” says Kim Corrigan, General Manager of The Blackstone. “The opportunity to join Autograph Collection Hotels amplifies this same distinctly hospitable and cultural spirit coupled with the unique design elements of our architecturally-stunning property.”

The hotel will feature art pieces from more than 1,600 local artists.

Known as the "Hotel of Presidents," The Blackstone has hosted U.S. presidents and foreign dignitaries, political and mob exchanges, actors and movie productions.

The Blackstone Hotel's culinary programming includes Mercat a la Planxa, which features flavors from Spain with a twist.

Timothy's Hutch will be added with the renovation, and will include unique cocktail programming taking guests through the past, present and future of The Blackstone.

According to the Illinois Department of Agriculture, about 1.5 million Illinois workers are employed in the food and fiber system, ranking it as one of the top states in dependency on agriculture. The state’s 72,500 farms utilize 75 percent of Illinois land, including some of the most fertile soil in the world. While nicknamed “The Prairie State,” Illinois is truly a land of plenty and a hub for agritourism—with some of the largest agriculture-focused events (holding the potential for major economic impact) taking place inside its borders.
