On Aug. 15, 2016, The El San Juan Hotel & Casino will temporarily close to undergo a multimillion dollar renovation; the changes are set for an end date of early 2017. Guest rooms, pool area, meeting and entertainment spaces, food and beverage venues and spa and fitness facilities will all be renovated.

“El San Juan is truly a one-of-a-kind property that we look forward to revitalizing," says Andro Nodarse-León of León Mayer & Co., one of the owners and asset manager of the resort. The updates will pay homage to the historical status of this property as an iconic luxury lifestyle and entertainment resort, while incorporating a playfully elegant feeling to the modernized setting.”

In July, Chris Heeter, The Wild Institute and thousands of fans had to say goodbye to beloved speaker dog Tuu Weh.

With her fists closed tightly, Chris Heeter let her hands drop lightly to her sides, opening her palms widely and wildly. And with that small, simple motion, Heeter was unknowingly opening not just her hands, but her heart to a presence that would change her life as well as thousands of others.

President of Cornerstone Restaurant Group Josh Zadikoff announced the appointment of Rebecca Muraski as general manager for the group’s Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse and ENO Wine Room.

Hilton Chicago Northbrook has completed phase one of a multimillion-dollar renovation. 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space and 249 guest rooms have been revamped by the Lynn Rosenberg Design Team to incorporate a modern aesthetic into the North Shore property. Phase two, beginning in early 2020, will refresh the property’s restaurants, Allgauer’s on the Riverfront and Frank’s Place.
