    FROM THE Fall 2015 ISSUE

Looking for a way to still cook meals at home but just don’t have the time to do it all? Home Chef is a food delivery service with a fresh twist. Great for working professionals like planners, the company makes meal planning and grocery shopping a breeze by giving you meal ideas, shopping for you, portioning everything out and delivering fresh ingredients to your doorstep. All you have to do is cook.

Home Chef subscribers can pick from a rotating weekly menu of eight to 10 meal options. Culinary Director Justin Paruszkiewicz and his team create recipes like mushroom risotto, carne asada with mashed black beans, and shrimp and grits. Choices also work well to accommodate a number of dietary restrictions and habits with options for vegetarian, vegan, low-calorie, low-carb, gluten-free, dairy-free and other eating preferences. Recently, the service partnered with protein brand Gardein to provide meatless meal options and also now offers smoothie options for the morning and afternoon, too. Home Chef is based in Chicago but delivers to 30 states in the Midwest and East Coast.

Whether dabbling with an augmented reality app, getting up to speed on the complexities of 5G service or employing cocktail-mixing robots, planners are no strangers to emerging technology. As meetings and events become increasingly tech-driven affairs, we’ve checked in with top event production pros for their takes on the latest event tech trends and what’s to come in the year ahead.

The atmosphere at relaxed Avondale neighborhood eatery Pisolino may remind you of a charming, laid-back European bistro—and for good reason.

Chef and co-owner James De Marte spent over a decade cooking his way through Italy to craft and hone the skills on full display at the cozy restaurant today. “The restaurant is truly his dream-turned-reality and a showcase of his love for Italian cuisine,” says co-owner Rachel De Marte.
