    New partnership brings organized approach to small and midsize trade shows. 

IMS Technology Services and Alliance Exposition Services have teamed up to assist managers of smaller to midsize trade shows to better execute their events. IMS, a full-service audio-visual company with event staging and systems integration solutions, and Alliance, the only Nationwide General Service Contractor focusing exclusively on smaller to midsize events, will together provide a seamless support system—and one point of contact—in coordinating event production needs and exhibitor management services.

“Clients will be able to upgrade the look and feel for exhibitors and attendees," says Paul Wedesky, COO of IMS." This will give midsize shows options, a bigger scale event without expanding their budget, and it will help them grow by connecting them with sponsorships.”

Wedesky also says that internet providers and registration companies are also in the works to create the "complete package": a seamless product for registration to simplify the process for event professionals. "Planners will be able to customize a program with consistency, both out front and behind the scenes." 

Remote working has become mainstream with the continued presence of COVID-19. While many people have welcomed the new normal of working from home, others miss the separation of spaces, as many corporate offices have remained closed since March. After almost 20 years of vacancy, the Cook County Hospital in Chicago will be put to use once again. A $150 million adaptive reuse project restored the historic, 106-year-old hospital, which has become a combined Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotel, as well as medical offices, a museum, a food hall and more. While the opening is multi-phased, the hotels are scheduled to open in late July.
