Connect Magazine recently published its 40 Under 40 list, and Daniel Gallagher, national sales manager, Meet AC and the Atlantic City Sports Commission, made the list.

The B2B magazine that provides resources and ideas to planners published the list in its August/September 2015 issue. Peers in the association and specialty meetings world nominated Gallagher to the list. Nominations are received from across the country. The editorial staff then reviews and evaluates based on references, industry involvement and other resources. The list is meant to honor young leaders who have garnered respect from other industry professionals and media.

“The individuals represented in our third annual 40 Under 40 are the future of the association and specialty meetings industry,” says Chris Collinson, president/CEO, Collinson Media & Events. “They, together with colleagues and industry partners, are elevating the profession and moving it forward.”

For these four couples, the events industry proved to be much more than just a career.

Dawn Young first joined Choose Chicago in June 2005 as director of association sales, and in May this year, was promoted to vice president of hotel sales. It’s a perfect example of rising up the ranks for someone who’s so passionate about moving tourism forward. Though her experience in the industry runs deep, she’s got her work cut out for her to keep the numbers growing: Chicago set a tourism record in 2017 with more than 55 million visitors. A major reason for that? “Chicago just rocks accessibility,” says Young.
