Olympia Hotel Management has been chosen to manage Hyatt Place & Hyatt House Quad Cities in East Moline, Illinois. The showcase hotel project features the 134-room Hyatt Place hotel and 99-room Hyatt House hotel.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system has awarded The Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites Chicago Downtown/West Loop LEED Silver.
The hotel received the designation due to its high performance in sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis has finished the first year of a program meant to reduce hotel CO2 emissions, and it has been successful.
The project primarily focuses on composting, its fully operational in the hotel. In the first 11 months, hotel teams composted 415,000 pounds of unused food waste. The composted scraps are picked up by St. Louis Composting and sent to a facility in Belleville, Ill. The compost is sold to homeowners and landscapers in the St. Louis area.

1. What are you looking forward to the most in your new role as master gardener at The Ranch Malibu?
The Robey, a 1929 art deco building located on the corner of Damen Avenue and North Avenue, is set for a makeover. The Robey is hard to miss, the 69-room hotel has a café, second-floor lounge, guest-only rooftop lounge, and in 2017, a rooftop pool. Grupo Habita will headline the project, with the hopes of modernizing the hotel without losing its character.
Its prism-like shape makes The Robey a unique building on the Wicker Park and Bucktown border. Built out of glass, wood, concrete and chrome, it earned the nickname Coyote Building due to its likening of a howling animal.
The Whitney Peak Hotel is ringing in their incredibly successful first two years of operation with a newly-completed renovation. In order to meet the growing demand for meeting space in a non-smoking, non-gaming environment the Whitney Peak Hotel’s renovation has more than doubled the hotel’s meeting capacity.
