New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge Reveals $45 Million Renovation

After more than a year, the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge announced the unveiling of its $45 million transformation, ending a three-phase renovation.

The third phase focused on renovating the 667 guestrooms to mimic the Brooklyn lifestyle, with urban-inspired color pallets, fabrics that emulate the culture and landmarks, and an art piece that zooms in on a piece of a mural that is located in the lobby.

Major Facelift For Philly's Ritz Carlton

The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia will undergo a complete transformation later this year.

Architect and interior designer Wimberly Interiors is leading the project for the Avenue of the Arts-located hotel. Renovations include new guest rooms and meeting spaces a refreshed lobby experience and public spaces, and a new restaurant, bar and lounge. The project is slated begin this month and finish in spring 2016.

O'Hare Makes a Nice Landing Place for Planners

In April 2014, the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), in partnership with Mayor Rahm Emanuel, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin and mall development company Westfield Corp., unveiled a $26 million revamp of O’Hare’s International Terminal 5. The overhaul added 24 new luxury retail and dining options as well as Chicago’s first airport spa, XpresSpa. Additional Terminal 5 features now include redesigned restrooms, lounge-style seating with outlets and USB ports, new lighting and signage and fixtures, all of which incorporate sustainable and recycled materials.

Cooper River Park is receiving a $23 million dollar overhaul, encompassing 374 acres across multiple towns. The renovation will include updates to the health and wellbeing of the river, a new stadium, and a new restaurant. The group spearheading the project of adding a restaurant to the park includes restaurateurs Kevin Meeker and Mike DeBenedictis, architect John Ruiz, and representatives of the Camden County freeholders.

Kimpton’s Hotel Allegro, a contemporary 483-room boutique-style hotel in the heart of Chicago’s loop art and theater district, is revealing the renovations of two new events spaces—Crescendo and the Green Room. The redesign was an opportunity for the hotel to take under-utilized space and transform it into unique and fresh options for meetings and events. Part one of a two phase renovation, Crescendo and the Green Room will be accompanied by renovations to the hotel’s living room in early 2015 as part of phase two.

This summer, the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile commemorates one year of success after their $25 million renovation. The renovation transformed the hotel’s 419 guest rooms, lobby, indoor pool and fitness center, to suit both leisure and business travelers.

As a result, the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile has received a number of awards including, being ranked in the top five of Hyatt locations; which is also thanks to their dedication to customer excellence. TripAdvisor travelers have also given the hotel top ratings.
