CES 2017 to Draw 50,000 Industry Professionals

On Jan. 5–8 in Las Vegas, CES 2017, a global tech community conference, is expected to draw 50,000 industry professionals from more than 150 countries. The show will feature exhibits from 57 countries—up 9 percent from last year. More than 600 startups from 33 countries will be featured this year.

Paul Van Deventer Appointed to Co-Chair Meetings Mean Business Coalition

The president and CEO of Meeting Professional International, Paul Van Deveter, has been named the Meetings Mean Business Coalition co-chair.

Beginning Jan. 2017, Van Deventer will work alongside fellow co-chair Richard Harper, executive vice president, HelmsBriscoe. Together, they will help the organization highlight the importance of in-person meetings, conferences, conventions, trade shows and more.

Previously, Michael Dominguez, senior vice president and chief sales officer, MGM Resorts International, served as co-chair.

PMMI Announced Purchase of Summit Media Group, Inc.

The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, PMMI,  who is the owner and producer of the PACK EXPO portfolio of trade shows, has entered into an agreement to purchase Summit Media Group, Inc., which publishes Packaging World, Automation World, Healthcare Packaging and Contract Packaging. PMMI Chairman Bill Crist, (CEO, Kliklok-Woodman) delivered the announcement at PMMI’s Annual Meeting, stating an expected sale conclusion date sometime in late October.
